    Insulated copper wire prices

    Just wondering what folks is getting for #2 insulated copper wire around the country. It is currently 50 cents a lb here, so just wondering if this is about right, low or what is going on.

    Sounds like it is pretty comparable here, maybe just a tad low. I have several hundred pounds (I use old paper 50 lb feed sacks to put it in, have about 20, each sack has about 30 lbs or sor), and trying to get an idea if it is low or within the median range.

    In Springfield, MA they list them like this: (insulated) low grade copper wire at .34/ lb. Miscellaneous electric cable at .59 to 1.21/lb. Bare copper wire is 1.72/lb. I'm assuming your #2 copper wire is their low grade wire at .34/ lb.
