Has anyone ever scrapped out musical equipment including mixers, mics, amps, keyboards and other electronics equipment? What types of c-boards do you think they have? Would you pay .02 per pound for any of this equipment?

I scrapped an amp awhile ago. There's about a pound of insulated wire, a transformer, and some misc. steel stuff. This was a homemade amp though, so it could be different

It would depend on the brand....Some of your higher end stuff may have better boards while the cheaper stuff will have low grade...It would also depend on the age. We scrapped a newer keyboard a few months ago...One mid-grade board and the rest was all low grade stuff....It was not a high end piece so it is pretty hard to judge.

I would check for more than scrap value on any musical equipment working or not. Went to a public auction a while back, Sound & Light co closing selling all equipment and misc. was an educational experience. What many of us see as a chunk of aluminum, copper & steel or e scrap is big things to some collectors and enthusiasts. If you have time research before you scrap or sell, you might get your eyebrows raised.

Here I get $0.05 a pound for Audio/Video gear (Not CRT TV's though). A buddy of mine works for a Audio/Video Warehouse. I picked up a 30 gallon tote of dead car stereos and a few old dead dvd players. If I scrap it as is, I'll probably pick up $10-15 let them take it apart.
He also dropped off a couple of hundred pounds of blown subwoofers..can't wait to take them and pc cases to the scrap yard!
