    Part Time Scrapper

Hey people. I've been scrapping for 2 years now, and have thus far made $3,700 and counting. It makes me a little sick to my stomach to think about the many years I lived before I knew you could make so much money off of scrap so easily.

The best-paying haul I ever got to take was from my company deciding to get rid of old stock - I made $255 on a single trip with a trunkload containing 137 Lbs of clean Brass.

I don't always have high quality scrap, in terms of cost, but the business I work for has bulk steel that is constantly rolling through. I get really excited when I nab a piece or two of copper and brass, which I never thought I'd say. I wish I knew a way to come across the higher cost stuff easier, but sites like this definitely give me some ideas.

My coworkers don't scrap, and always tease me for grabbing little nuts and bolts left lying around, but they don't get that it's a great way to make side money.

I have a question about the forum, longterm users here may be able to answer. I like the "Linear" thread display for when you open a thread up to read it - but when I do so, it shows me the newest post at the top of the page. I'd prefer to see the oldest thread post first, and then read through the responses. Is this possible on this forum? That's the way I always like to have my view set-up.

Thank you KZBell. Lots of interesting stuff to read here, and hopefully learn some things from.

I like your signature! That's usually my solution to any problem, much more so than duct tape.

I was looking at one thread here questioning how to take a type of motor apart, and realized it was the exact same thing I struggled with a year ago. If I had known about this forum then, it would've been a big help. So the older threads definitely do help. I have a lot to sit down and read

Denver, NC is just outside of Charlotte, bordering the bigger towns of Huntersville/Mooresville/Mount Holly.
