    In the news

So I was driving to work this morning and I was listening to the radio and I heard something along the lines of a 41 year old man getting either arrested or scolded by the CHP for trying to steal a street light - pole and all. I was just thinking "wow, how in the world was he going to justify something like that strapped to his vehicle"

Sigh. I bet he's got a back yard full of shopping trolleys and gas bottles too.

I got two light poles from a hospital renovation a couple years ago. Put them on CL and got a call within half an hour. Sold both of them to an apartment house owner for $100 each. HE told ME what a great bargain they were.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I have seen and cut up whole truck loads of those light poles even the 200 foot ones shaped like an octogon. They were steel though. I am pretty sure that pole had to be aluminum. Probably had a chop saw to. If I was a thief and had a partner with me I could probably make one dissapear in a matter of minutes. Then again I just remembered I don't steal anything.

Read a story of wire theft, the theif removed the inspection plate at the bottom of the metal pole then hooked a chain onto the wires yanking out would would come going up the pole and underground. As soon as the wires short circuit the breaker trips keeping the theif safe from being electrocuted but not prosecuted.
