least favorite items to break down

Is is just me or does anyone else find stereo/cd players tedious to break down. Just completed one and got tired of small screws and smaller screws. Went to the hammer out of frustration.

Also sewing machines. Nice cast aluminum base but more screws than you can count. I pick up from a thrift and you never know what will be in the mix but try to take the good with the bad.

The hardest thing for me is large aluminum items that need to be cut up.

I take everything apart, the first time taking something apart is the hardest but after a few times it gets easier. An electric screw driver is my most used tool.

I hate breaking down them . . . . . . . . well you know those, , , , , , , cant think of anything right now gime a min. . . . . . . . . OH yea them things that you get given to you by other scrappers. You know the things they dont want to fool with them selves lol. Each person has thier least and most faverite things to break down. My honest least faverite has to be a laptop. You know theres some good parts but the hammer usually comes out lol.

Freakin' printers...man I have a garage full of those things and I'm getting tired of them fast. It seems each brand has a different combination of Philips head and Torx head screws in all different sizes. Overhead projectors are a pain too. Some brands are nice and simple and some are a bear.

Vacuums (the plastic) & modern photocopiers (the screws) 'cept hey have a few nice gold touched boards in them. CD drives except the gold connection & magnets.

Don't bother with sewing machines & VCR's unless they have a transformer.

I hate everything that I cant use an electric screwdriver on.
I hate everything that has two or more types of screws.
I hate the small transformers with the copper wound around the welded "Es and Is".
I hate printers.(I get the ink everywhere)
I hate all phones, especially cell phones.
I hate anything with already broken glass inside it.
I hate anything that has dead bugs falling out of it.
I hate anything that has live bugs in it.
I hate tvs with aluminum degaussing wires.
I hate anything electrical from a kitchen(all kinds of MUNG in them sometimes)
and I hate everything everybody else has said(especially vacs).

But I still break down all of that annoying stuff and more because I LIKE $$.

Hauled a bunch of very old stack pipe today. Didn't have to break it down but did have to put on a lot of protective gear. lol.

Stop frustrating yourself with those cell phones, shootsitall! Just throw them in a box and mail them to me!

I am trying to get away from messing with much other than electronics, but I second a lot of the stuff that you all have said. Anything that is stinky, greasy, or needs a lot of work before sale makes me do a quick analysis these days, when previously i would just bite the bullet and grab it.

I friggin hate printers. Especially ones that are 90% plastic and put the board in an annoying and awkward place, requiring a choice between taking out a ton of Torx screws or going at it with hammers and anger, sending debris everywhere for a fifty cent board and forty cents of shred.

    F those things.

Not a bad deal you got some scrap lead, scrap brass and dinner out of that deal.

I dislike printers and Trane condensers.

This is why they have an irony or dirty catagory for stuff. Some things are better just going in the dirty alum pile. Alum bike rims with the steel spokes, typewriters, some patio furnature that has alum over the steel. And many more...
