I've got an identical one sitting on my shelf, just haven't had the time to test it. Along with with a duel (SD-800) 5.25 and 3.25 I need to put up. If you have any compatible cables, I would have included those as well, but since you listed them as is, I assume you don't. Hope you do well with it. I know some people hate evilbay, feebay, etc, but I've done pretty well with selling thus far. The exposure alone outweighs any tough to deal with customer, in my opinion, that you might occasionally come across.

If you had a way to test them they would easily sell for $20+ each they look to be in really good condition. Good luck with your auction.

I usually have pretty good luck selling 5.25" floppy drives, I don't have time to test them, sell them as "untested" usually get $10-15 each plus shipping.

As I have said for awhile now, these things are like gold. I especially have luck with the TEAC drives and I usually get $20-$30 each WITHOUT TESTING. They scoop them up because its hard to kill those things so chances are they are working.

Feel free to send me an offer on the 30 I have sitting around.

An no, I won't deal with eBay, but you all know this.

    Sirscrapalot - Still no quotes!

I would be tempted to do $3-$5 each plus shipping, if shipping were reasonable and items were in good physical condition (no cracks on plastic or obvious damage).

Disregard my offer of taking my extras off my hands. Turns out while their 3.5's they aren't the same brand, etc, etc. I looked closer an while I have one mentioned in this thread the rest are NEC 3.5s. I apologize if I got anyone excited. They sit in a corner of my shop, awaiting me to figure out something to do with them. This makes me sad, I was hoping I'd make some space..lol. Tho if anyone needs the NEC 3.5 FD1231M model...I have a bunch of those!

Ah well. Back in the corner they go to collect dust.

    Again my apologies.

    Sirscrapalot - Still on strike.

I had a batch of about a dozen or so brand new in the box TEAC 3.5 that I sold in a single lot some time ago. I think it brought about $50 plus shipping.

Brand new 5 1/4 would have brought more

Quick update. I listed 2 TEAC 5.25 drives together as a package on November 25th and just sold them today for $54.99 including shipping. This is a direct quote of my item description:

"Pair of TEAC 5.25" floppy drives model FD-55GFR. These units have not been tested and are being sold as-is with no warranty or returns. Price includes shipping to US lower 48 only, via economy method. Items exactly as shown in photos will be shipped."

I sent the items out via USPS Priority for $11.50 (using eBay shipping discount), and eBay had a final valuation fee of $3.30 (because I have a store, I get a discount). Not sure what I'm going to pay to PayPal, but cant be too much. Therefore I estimate my "profit" at around $20 per unit not including the nominal charges for ink, paper, packing tape and bubble wrap. USPS will pickup at my home, but in this case I'm driving by the P.O. so I'll probably just drop it off.

Not sure if all this info is helpful, but just want to reiterate that there is money in those 5.25 floppies! On a side note, I came across another drive that was an off brand and I knew was exposed to the elements, although there was no physical indication. That one I just threw in the "to be scrapped" pile instead of selling something with only a remote chance of working.
