Nice score. Let me know if it sells. I can usualy get those at the local auction here for around $100 to $150.
Yeah I paid above scrap.........Took a chance as it was AS-IS.............I figured if anything power supply would be bad but the sucker fired right up............It was a bit dusty but I took care of that LOL..............Hope all is well PTS
i hope you do good on that one....see im always at a disadvantage....i know next to nothing about computers so i cant go above scrap when i buy.....i do however check everything i get on ebay before i smash,,,that was soooooo hard to do when i first started and had the <<< i gota know whats in there bug
Didn't sell.......Had a bid but the guy retracted (don't know why)........Its up for best offer....I don't need it BUY AND SELL LOL
Look in the sold section for comparable units. Make certain that the ones you are looking at are the same as you have, little things can make a big difference.
If you haven't yet, test it out to the best of your ability so you will have some assurance that it will work. Check out the sold section of parts coming from that model item. Selling working parts can be an easier quicker way to sell sometimes. Mike

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
Yea it is priced slightly lower than market value...........I can load OS and put a hard drive in if anyone here is interested........I think I might have some more ram for it to...........FOR A SMF member I can make you a nice workstation out of it.........Otherwise I don't want to provide tech support on ebay so I sell without HD and OS...........Anyone interested Send me a PM
I do the same thing. Although I put max ram and HD in them and just sell them without OS. I do not want to turn into tech support either. Also thanks for asking Mike I am so busy I cant see straight. * boxes on the shelf right now waiting to be processed. Cant ever seem to get caught up but hey I am not complaining. Hope all is well with you also.
Two, perhaps stupid, questions: what makes it a workstation vs a plan old tower, and why was the COA removed? Mike
Coa was removed by the institution I bought it from (not sure why)???.........Sold for $190 plus shipping

Workstation Vs. Desktop
I had a similar item. It was an HP workstation. Everything worked, but no OS. I parted it out for over $600. Fans went for $30 each. Heatsink went for 75. motherboard for 150. etc.

the COA was probably removed and transferred to a newer workstation...they generally can buy licenses in bulk and have different rights than consumer licenses. I would part that puppy out...will sell faster...people looking for full servers generally buy new and the cost to ship the "casing" is a TON....you will probably make more money parting anyways...that is what I do if I can't sell to my local contact that specializes in business computer equip...
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell
Thanks but I sold it and made nice profit
I've never understood why people or companies remove COAs.
Sometimes on eBay, the old workstations can be worth a pretty penny. You just have to find the right person. 5 years ago, I was selling Pentium III laptops on eBay. Anything's possible!
