PM - Sent Mail doesn't show

For some reason, my "Sent Items" folder is always empty. I can not go back and read any PM's I've sent, although the messages are apparently reaching their destinations. Is anyone else having this problem? It is important to me that this be resolved, as I'm sure many of you know how important a paper trail can be!

When creating a private message, or replying to one, there is a checkbox at the bottom that says "Save in sent folder" or something similar. Check this box before you send your message and it will be saved in your sent items folder. It doesn't happen automatically.

or you can permanently set it up to save sent PM's. -click settings (top right) > click general settings (scroll down - on left) > scroll down to "sent private messages" click "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default" and scroll down > click save changes.
