Private Messaging Limitations & Private Messaging Usage

    Private Messaging Limitations

Private messages are limited and your account here will have different permissions relating to private messaging dependent on your account status.

    * When you first register on the forum, you do not have any private messaging permissions, unless you have a PM coming from an administrator.

    * After you have a couple posts on the forum, and have been registered for a couple days, your account will then have private messaging permission.
You will be able to store up to 40 (total sent AND received) private messages in your inbox.

    * Upgraded accounts (ie, Scrap Room members and Scrap Buyer/Seller accounts) can store up to 200 private messages.

    Private Messaging Usage

    *
How to send a private message - To send a private message to a member, click on their username to view their profile, then select the 'send private message' option.

You will be notified when your PM is replied to or you receive a new message. A mailman will appear letting you know you have a message, click him to visit your inbox.

    * How to Save SENT messages - By default, private messages you SEND are NOT stored in your sent folder. To save your sent messages, when creating or replying to a PM, select the 'GO ADVANCED' option to view the advanced editor. There will be a check box that says 'Save a copy of this message in your Sent Items folder.' Check this box to have this message saved in your sent folder.

    *
How to DELETE private messages - To delete your private messages, simply visit your inbox and tick the check-box next to each message you would like to delete. Then scroll down to the 'Selected Messages' dropdown and select 'Delete'.

    * How to EXPORT/SAVE private messages - Sometimes you want to clear space in your inbox, but want to keep some or all of your PMs for reference later. You can export and save your private messages to your computer.

To export/save your private messages, simply visit your inbox, scroll all the way to the bottom and use the 'Download all Private Messages as:' option.

    There is no saved box.

Just an inbox, and a sent box, when I say save above, I mean you have to manually select whether or not to save your sent messages to the sent folder. The limit is 200 total.

This would be good to post in the General Guidelines. I had no idea until I dug around a bit.

Yes I had to dig around for this to. Didn't know if it was an account error or what. Glad I found this!
