Then you should do a complete virus & malware scan
Download & use Malwarebytes & Superantispyware
Remove all unnecessary toolbars using your Add/Remove programs in the control panel
If that doesn't help. call your local PC nerd to assist you
Just to expand a little bit on this and hope it helps you.

It sounds to me like you have what's called adware on your computer. Or something similar. You often get this when you download something and don't notice that other programs are included in the installation package or download. That's why a virus scan might not catch this. You need to disable and uninstall the programs that are causing you grief.

You can see a list of programs installed on your computer by using the Windows uninstall utility. Just click the start button and type "uninstall" in the search box and it will bring up a list for you. Click on "Uninstall a program." The utility should start and you can see a list of programs that are installed on your computer. You can then uninstall programs that you don't need. If you are not sure of what to delete and what to keep, then find someone to help you out. Or start searching to see if any of those programs might be adware and get rid of them. Don't delete anything if you aren't sure what it is. Google it. Ask someone.

Start with that and report back what you have found.

OK. TIME TO ROLL UP MY SLEEVES...

Please tell me, step by step, where you are when you receive the Yahoo error message.
Pretend I don't know how to get there (you might be right, too)
Remember: Step by step how you get to where you are getting the error message & exactly what link you are clicking.

I am at my house, sitting in my computer chair at my computer... JK

I go to scrapmetalforum.com at the top left it says:
-new posts-- --FAQ-- --Community-- --Forum actions-- --etc..

Click "new posts" I get this yahoo search engine error:
Page not found Yahoo Error Handler

In the same browser, it doesn't open another one.

Also on the top left of the scrapmetalforum.com homepage it says:
-Scrap Metal Forum-- --Whats New?-- --Scrap Buyers & Sellers-- --Scrap Monster-- --Etc.

Click "Whats New?" Same yahoo page.

Every other link works. And I have no issues on any other website.

Take a look in your settings menu and click on extensions. Write down all that you have (or take a screen shot) and list them here.

Really, the first thing I would have done is check the computer for adware. The next thing I would do is to check the browser extensions (also called add-ons).

Also, if you want to, highlight the link you posted and right click on it. Then use the "search Google for" item to look for a solupiostedtion that way. Some of the results may apply to your situation and some may not. Look for results that are specific to Chrome.

LOL! I am at my house, sitting in my computer chair at my computer... Hee Hee!
    Seriously
Did you remove all extra toolbars, especially Yahoo toolbar?
I remain convinced that you have a browser redirect issue, even though it only happens on SMF
Did you run Malwarebytes & Superantispyware, as well as doing a Windows disk cleanup, deleting all temp files, cookies etc?

I had to go up and look for one to see what you guys were talking about and now I see that they are right next to each other. That just shows how unlikely I am to explore and try new things. Now I'm hovering the cursor over it and can't bring myself to click!! What if it is much better than the other one? What if it takes to the same Yahoo page with Parker and then somehow know something is dreadfully wrong with my computer? What if???

Ok, I'm not clicking it and I'm going to go plant cotton now. See you guys later.
    LOL. This cracked me up.

I took the plunge and clicked it myself...
Nothing crazy happened and my computer did not explode, just brought me to where it's supposed to bring me, no Yahoo page.

Anyway, considering this is an isolated issue to only one user I'm 100% confident that the problem is not a forum specific issue. (Although adware/spyware could seemingly effect only certain sites/features that you use in your browser) Billygoat is most likely right, adware/spyware can do some very strange and unusual things.

    I recommend the following.

1 - Clear your browser cookies, browser cache, and search history.

2 - Download Malwarebytes (free version is fine). Best freeware piece of antivirus/spyware/adware software there is. Then run it.

3 - THEN download and run superantispyware.

NOTE - Make sure to do it in that order... Malwarebytes first.

4 - Restart your system. (Physically shut down your computer or laptop and start it up again.)

5 - Run Malwarebytes one more time (sometimes it doesn't catch everything until a second run after a full restart.)

That should do it... But if it does not, certainly post here afterwards and someone will most likely help you identify whatever is causing these annoyances for you.

Your browser has been hijacked. It's an obnoxious adware infection.

If you look at the URL you're being redirected to (the one you gave in your original post), you'll see it begins with the string "http://us.yhs4.search.yahoo.com/"
A search on that string turns up tons of links about the same problem you're having.

Here's a link that appears to give a good explanation of how to get rid of this adware:
    http://malwaretips.com/blogs/us-yhs4-search-yahoo-com-removal/

(Sorry, I can't try it out myself because I don't want to install that hijacker on my system!!)

    Hope this helps some.

I just read my above post. The word that came out as "solupiostedtion" should have been "solution." I have a regular keyboard made for Windows users, but it seems like it doesn't like my Linux OS. If I hit the wrong key, for some reason, it will paste whatever is on my clipboard. I usually proofread before I send, but that one got by me. Sorry.

FLimits, I'm afraid to click on it myself. Not that I'm worried it would affect me on the Linux OS but I read on one of the Linux tutorials that if a virus gets downloaded into my Linux partition, and I later send something to a Windows user it could attach to their system and wreak havoc. So I don't want to be responsible.

See..I wasn't paranoid for not clicking the links!

If there is one thing I've learned with the internet, if someone is having issues an it goes to a link, don't click the darn thing.

If anyone needs me, I'll be eating a peppermint paddy an chilling with Spin so he doesn't drink all the crown.
