There is a way involving sand, heat an a grill. There is a thread on here somewhere on it.

Good luck! Cell phone boards are fun. I work with them myself.

Ok - dumb question here. Why would someone want to depopulate cell phone boards?

People delopulate them to refine the boards and the other parts. Or to sell the boards on ebay like gold fingers.

Err..if your attempting a sand bath like in the video, your not using chemicals. Your just heating sand.

I can't help you with refining for two reasons.

    1. I don't refine.
    2. We don't discuss that stuff here, the process an how to do it that is. You should check in over at the gold refine forum, but be warned they are less tolerant, an as well they should be. We have a few members from over there here, an they will tell you the same.

Not trying be a jerk, just letting ya know the best place to go for your information.

Good luck, be safe, an head over to GRF for questions an answers on the refining process.

I would just sell the boards to an e-waste buyer and spend the time breaking down more cell phones or better yet sell the whole phone and spend the time breaking down computers. Just my .02

Ah! Excellent thank you E. Only issue with the video is it sounds like mumbling. lol.

It's straight an to the point tho, which is why I have it saved. Glad to know it came from a GRF member. Just drives me nuts when I watch it, cause I can't hear him. Hence my comment. It could very well be my computer or ears.

Either way, it's good stuff. I got the sand if anyone needs some..
