    Analog/Digital converters

Wondering about these ADC80AG-12 Chips 32 pin DIP package. Made by a company called "Burr - Brown" I think Texas Instruments bought them a few years ago. Looking on EBay selling for $100 range, but don't see any buyers. They have gold plated pins and the chips is ceramic not plastic, also gold traces for each pin on top. Did use the search feature here, but seams only Catalytic Converters are mentioned, not even close to same "animal". I have other similar types made by Datel/Intersil & MN?

Some have sold on EB, but there have been only 5 sales in the past year, so demand is limited. Here are the transactions:

    3 pieces, NOS, $50 (sold 1/3/14)

    1 piece, date code 12/3/1980, $15 (sold 10/29/13)

    1 piece (?), 90-day warranty, $29.99 + $1.99 S&H (sold 8/30/13)

    1 piece, ceramic 32-pin DIP like yours, $20 + $4.40 S&H (sold 5/30/13)

    2 pieces, $16.77 + $3 S&H (sold 5/27/13)

Do yours have the gold caps?

No gold caps! A purple ceramic base with gold pins & gold traces, then there is a grey ceramic cap. Date codes 7840, 7946, 8103, handwritten 80-12. So do you think these are Ebay gold refiner items or more for Ebay vintage collector?

I don't think they'd attract much collector interest, but chip collectors are strange animals, so you never know. Let's just say they're not the kind of thing these guys typically collect.

If you have 4 of them, it might take forever to move them individually. Maybe you could try selling them in pairs, setting a BIN price above scrap but below $20/chip, which is what the other sellers are trying to get. Or let people bid, but set a starting price far enough above scrap to make it worth your while if someone wins it at that price.

Good advice thanks! I have over 20+ some were from new boards that were never used! None were soldered, so they are clean and in good shape. I like that they are late 70's and early 80's.
