    Need help with cell phones

Went to city surplus auction, scored a huge lot of phones, chargers, accessories, etc.. for very very little cash.
The 9 black motorolas I can get to power on with a charger, the rest are nextel flip phones and some other misc stuff. 7 lap tops from police cars I believe, and some net-gear switches. Can somebody help with what I need to sort and look for etc.. First time dealing with phones and lap-tops. A approx price or a good known buyer that is trustworthy would also be of help.

These I can get to power on and they have the belt holsters

Pulled the backs and batteries off the Junkers and ended up with 68lbs. $4/lb, will yield a very nice profit. Gonna pull the boards out of the lap tops and netgear stuff. Might hold onto tge gold boards and see if gold goes up any. Not desperate for cash at the moment.

Check ebay for sold prices on the laptops before you scrap them. Possible offer as a group to local computer refurb guys. Check them for hard drives sell them to someone on the forum. There are lots of possibilities. Mike

Got a few people lined up for the lap-tops. Selling them for $15/ea. Paid $5ea for the computers. Allready sold one of the phones working for $15. I paid $25 for the entire 200+ cell phone lot. All but 12 of them I am scrapping due to their age and condition. These other 9 Sprint smart phones work like brand new! I got lucky and found a charger in the boxes, gave it a hour on the wall and bam it powered right up, and all screens work.

I'd be interested in buying 5-10 of the sprint/android phones you have there if the price is right!!

You are right. There are answers buried in these forums. But over time it gets harder and harder to dig through some of them. I like the tv section where someone like me who knows scrap but maybe not a specific type of scrap/common device can click on one of the stickys and find instructions on how to process that certain item with somewhat high efficiency. Im still new to forums so not quite sure how it all works on here yet but it would be cool if there was like a section, or a sticky with intructions on how to dismantle some common items. Maybe make it so only the moderators can post in that section or have like contests where the best written and illustrated (obviously not mine) posts actually get posted. Make it organized enough for a new forum member like myself to find what they want at the click of a button and it might end people like me asking questions and then hours later accidently clicking on what they were searching for and not deleting their repetitive post drowning all the real info in hours of "well i got this but not sure what it is or what to do with it please help" posts.
There could already be a section for that though. Still learning how forums work.

The member you are responding to has passed on in 2016.

The place to suggest possible new thread sections.

I am certain that continued reading of old threads will educate you on your interest and you will learn things you didn't know you should know.

I have been asked several times over the years as a member here why don't you just answer the question directly. Well because I don't really know your situation and the answer is different for depending on your situation. I do give direct answers to some sometimes but to do that always robs a new member of the far more in depth education they will receive by reading more.

    Good luck, Mike
