came into 50ish work phones

So, I've been out of construction and have been in security for a good 4 or 5 months or so, while waiting for a local I'm on the wait list for to start the next class. So naturally, my scrap accumulation has dwindled and my stock is almost out, which is fine, because with the job I'm working now, I dont have much time to scrap. but....

The company I'm with got new work phones for our staff, which we use in stead of walkie talkies, and they just chucked all the old ones into a box and threw it out for an e waste company to come grab. I took the box for myself (I asked, it is all ok). I figured I could probably make a couple bucks off this. So there's 50 or so Sonim phones. I haven't quite figured out what model it is exactly, but I think it's this model (if not, it is certainly similar)

I tried offering them to a few of the well known cellphone buyers, but no one is biting. I'm still doing some reading on here to see what exactly my options are. but does anyone have a rough idea on what a breakdown on the worth for this might be, if I go to recover the gold myself? I've never done it, but have watched some videos and read up on it throughout the past few years, I just don't know if I want to go through the process.

Anyone here have experience with bulk cellphones, and what did you wind up doing with them?

A quick check of ebay sold shows that there is not a huge market for them. I would consider contacting of the regular sellers of these models and ask if they would offer on the entire lot.

I would never recommend gold recovery to anyone.

Check with our buyers who buy cell phones for scrap. See if they will pay their regular rate on them.

Do more reading of the old threads on the forum. You don't know what you will learn that will help you with this and other situations you will come across. 73, Mike

I would think that if you remove the battery, if possible, and as much rubber and send them into one of the buyers here, you would make a few bucks. Check out the buyers section and see if anyone is in your area. I drive 2 hours to get to my buyer from here, and always make out better than local.

Never think about refining the gold yourself, it is very dangerous, which those videos don't tell people. Listen to the advice given to you above and here. Online videos can be great but I feel they can hurt more people than making them laugh.
