i have been stripping copper wire for a while now. i have been buying unstripped wire from electricians and from other places and i can strip though a ton of the solid core like romex and industrial stuff very quick and easy with a utility knife and high quality blades .
i have accumulated a big pile of lamp cords power cords like home extention cords phone wire and computer wire. does anyone have any ideas how i can strip this stuff more quickly. i can buy a stripper for a couple hundred that will do the lamp and computer power cords ok but what i really need is a way to strip though Computer wire and phone wire. like the fine little cables inside printer cables data cables and network cable. i got a ton of it and scrap yards pay like .10-.20 lb or less for computer wire
i did some experimenting with scrap piece of iron i had and if you squeeze phone wire between 2 edges of steel and pull it though you can peel off the coating. but harder for the fine stranded stuff. does anyone know of a resonably priced machine or device i could strip this with.
