I was wondering what types of scales people use? and also do any of u guys carry a scale in the bed of truck? I was just curious i dont mind paying for scrap im just horrible at guessing how much it weights. dont wanna pay for 50lbs when its only 45lbs.

I have a doctor's office old type scale in the garage, a kitchen type scale for small stuff and a bathroom scale under the passenger seat of the truck.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I got this one from ebay about 7 months ago. Not a bad deal at all. Works everytime. Ive put about 350 lbs max on it myself although it says it will weigh up to 600+. Hope it helps.

I have one something like thirsty but smaller. It weighs up to 330 lbs. and works on ac and 9v batteries. I keep it in my truck just in case I need it to buy e-waste. Found it on e-bay for 40.00+ 10.00 shipping.

i buy all my scales from gerhart in boundbrook they are calibrated and nj state certified once a year pricey but worth it

Has anyone tried a "hanging" scale (like a fish scale or the kind in the produce section {only bigger})? I would be using it for steel not electronics. I was thinking that would be the easiest. If so anyone know of a good source?

I have a huge, old school, spring and weight scale. Works great, but its heavy as hell.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

I've got a Weigh Max. They are okay, but I wouldn't tust it to be exact. One of the legs on the scale seems to be shorter than the other for some reason, but it's still good enough for me. All I use it for is to get an idea of what I've got before I go to the yard, or (evenually) mail out.
