Anyone here use Synthetic Oil in their truck?

Just figured I would ask. I use synthetic in my s10 since she obviously gets used as a work truck, seeing a little more severe service than the average car or truck on the road. Anyone else do the same?

You have an aftermarket oil cooler? My 7.3 only takes 15 quarts.

I have a '97 F-250 Heavy Duty with a 351 (5.8L) in it. It has 276,000 miles on it and I use synthetic in it. I use synthetic in all of my vehicles actually. I've only used Mobil 1 so I can't vouch for anything else but I've never had a problem with it. It's more expensive but it's worth the piece of mind for me.

I've serviced many power strokes they all take bout 15 quarts or 3.75 gal. There is a variance I the years tho I've noticed, older ones with spin on oil filters take less and the newer ones with sock type filter that goes in the top of the motor takes a few quarts more

I run synthetic in most everything I have except the old tractors that don't get used much since I switched to synthetic I haven't had any problems due to lubrication. One of my customers at the shop is a pilot car driver and has over 300 thousand miles on a 2007 Tahoe I had the oil pan off recently looked almost new inside he has used Mobil 1 from the beginning

I use synthetic in everything, mowers, tractor, car, and truck. I have switched to supertech synthetic from walmart as I read that it is made by mobil, but I found that info from a forum on the internet so I don't know that for sure.

I use Mobil-1 in the Jeep's 4.7L V8. I stay with the 3000 mile change period. I use it to haul the scrap trailer (1300 pounds today!) and tow my boat, plus short stop-and-go driving around town. That calls for the severe service schedule. I got lucky when I found this one two and a half years ago, it was a 2007 model Laredo with only 12,000 miles. Today it's got 30,000 miles and it will be paid off by the time it's got 50,000, so it has a long, long life ahead of it and I need to keep it in good shape. If I'm lucky, I could get 8 or 9 years out of it without a payment before it rusts out.

She worked hard today, she deserves the good juice!

one thing i forgot to mention on synthetic oil. alot of oils say the can be in the vehicle for 10 or 15 thousand miles or whichever, in my experience that is true the oils wont break down as fast, but it can become just as contaminated. If you are going to change your oil less often you should still change your oil filter every 3 or 5 thousand miles
