    Question Posts

How about sending people a message when you delete their post atleast giving them a reason.. I have no idea why it was deleted and posting this is against the 'rules' as well but I would like to know why. my post was about a 'tool' I made for our scrapyard. a scrap metal program. it is a tool I use and in my eyes was a valid post. I wasn't trying to sell it or anything like that, just get some input on some ideas for it.

Well thats going to be construed as advertising pretty much any way you package it. Even if your giving out free copies or trials. I agree with getting feedback about why your post was pulled though, maybe it was just in the wrong section of the forum?
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com

wouldn't be that.. they can move posts. And I am not in anyway advertising.. who said I was giving it out? or selling it? I am building it for myself.. and my business. There must be others out there on this forum that use programs related to scrap metal and I wanted their input of what functions their programs do, what all they keep track of and so on.

I looked over it and it looked like a typical calculation/invoice type program. No offense intended but i can setup a basic spreadsheet in 1 hour that would do the exact same thing. Its just determined by your programming ability and how fast you can type. Its not like the basic programs i used to do that required 20 pages of handwritten code, do people still program in basic? Ah i can still remember the high school days when the normal kids were taking typing class and us nerds were writing programs.

I guarantee there is a need for those types of programs and the people that know how to write them. I am impressed with your ability, ive forgotten more about programming than most people will ever know. When the direction of my life changed so did my skills.

It started out as a spreadsheet.. lol but a lot of the time I was writing vba code in excel to do different things. So i figured I might as well get rid of all the un needed stuff in excel so it is more user friendly to my computer illiterate employees that kept messing stuff up. It uses a database now instead of sheets like it was using in excel (although I could have used a database in excel but didn't). thanks for the comment.
