    Scrappers Work Benches

    What does your work area look like? Any special tools (i.e. mounted vice...etc)? Just trying to work on ideas for a work station.

    Any input thoughts or pictures are appreciated! Lets show off those Workbenches!

    I was going to start a thread about this, but I didn't. Anyway, here is a tour of my workshop (aka my garage . I cleaned out everything a couple of weeks ago, and scrap has been slow so I don't have that much in there right now

    An ceiling view of my area. The bench is a cheap one from Harbor Freight. It's an upgrade form what I had before, which was literally a card table.

    A shot of my "bucket area."

    A couple of CRT Glass screens destined for Goodwill. Then, my Low Grade bin on the left, Copper on the right, and #2 Insulated behind that. Then my sheet/extruded aluminum bin with a monitor shell on it.

    My 20 Gallon Brute for plastics that I save for my plastic buyer. Behind that is a broken tub I use to hold my small shred (Screws, Printers, Tin cans) before I empty them into my 35 gallon drums in my backyard. Then some wood to drop off at my plastic guy. He also recycles wood.

    The table top and pegboard. I have most of my hand tools up here. My vice is not mounted down at the moment, but I had some metal plates fabricated for free to mount it to the table. I just have to go and cut the 2 inch thick wood I plan on using. Anyway, not too interesting.

    My 6" Irwin Mechanics Vice. Very nice and fairly new. And yes, that is a 25 pound barbell on the back. It's there temporarily to hold down the vice.

    The top shelf. I keep all of my CBM's and Transformers in the "Brass" tub. My cable ends in the one to the left of it, my rechargeable batteries in the cole slaw tub, then some other random crap in the other two. The exit sign came from a electronics load, and I rigged it up to a laptop power cord. I have a Larry Light sticking to the metal plate under the exit sign (The yellow stick thing).

    Not Pictured: My two tool boxes I take to jobsites, my Skil sawzall, my Makita 4 1/2" angle grinder, and some other stuff under the bench.

    The plates for my vice:

    Anyway, that's my shop. I know its nothin' compared to some of the other guys, but it works for me.

    Here is my workbench complete with vice. Shelf underneath for extra storage. Big pegboard to the right for all the "hang up tools"
    Air compressor to the left.

    This was my temp workbench when we worked out under a 12X12' canopy;

    This is a roll-around bench I can place anywhere in the garage or roll it out of the way when not needed.

    i got a couple home built tables, one started life as a shipping frame for a three wheeler, have one metal industrial table, salvaged it from a load i picked up. I have a vice on every one of them. two of the vices came with a forge i bought, the other i got at a estate sale, got it cheap to,it had been repainted, everybody thought it was a cheap import, i had already looked it over and knew just what it was.Think i ended up spending like 8 bucks on it.

    all of these have been on here before on different threads but my work bench is usually a trailer or a bed of a truck, also my maroon truck has rollers set up on the tailgate so i can spin fire extinguishers while i cut them with the plasma cutter
