Can't wait to see pictures of it in action!
Your not the only one, hoping this is gona save my back a lot of aches
What is the practical use for this? Pulling something up from a river? ...I have thought about getting one, but I feel a tommy lift gate would be more practical.
Just curious.

I know a scraper who has a similar one that he made a bracket that attached to the top of the side of the truck and about mid way up the vertical shaft. This added a lot of strength to the installation of your "crane". I think you will find many uses for this and save your back. Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
Let me know how this works out for you. I have been looking at one, but I need to make a custom hitch bracket so it will work when I open the rear door on my SUV.
Anything you want to lift up into the bed of the truck instead of using manpower. Large AC's, motors, anything large and bulky. Also big difference in price between a bed crane and lift gate.
Also here is something you might be able to use for dragging stuff out of the brush, especially if you don't have a good sturdy place to wrap a chain.

Couldn't agree more with you mech, besides what good would a tommy gate do when you have to get whatever you wanting to move on the tommy gate? The only thing those are good for, aside from adding 500# to you rig, is moving fridges
Very cool, how much did this set you back if I may ask? I like the concept of it. Would serve a purpose on my deckover trailer, back saver for sure.
It's available thru northern tool, with shipping and all was round 400 $ and some change. There's a lot of harbor freight cranes cheaper but this one appears to be far superior in quality and design.
awesome hope it saves the back years in pain free lifting
finally got it installed but haven't really tested it out yet. A few pics for ya, enjoy !
Removed the bed
