Out With the Old and In with the New 18 Ft Dovetail

I've had this trailer since '98...hauled scaffolding on it for years and it came in handy for scrapping as well. Drug my feet about selling it but it was too narrow for cars, so when an opportunity came along a few weeks ago to get a 18ft Dovetail I snatched it up and sold this one.

Got the winch installed yesterday...the battery will go in a box and will sit down behind the winch eventually but supposed to haul the first car on it in the next day or two so this will do for now.

Hard to get a good pic of the trailer right now cuz it's between the fence and the pickup...basic Dovetail though.

Hoping to get 2+3 small to mid size cars a month to start...not Tater Size vehicles.

Is that a "Jersey" Brand Trailer? Looks darn near identical to mine (Minus the Dovetail) Same faded/weathered Red paint too :-) I know my rig isn't the prettiest.. but she hauls like a dream.. Beefy bad**s Mutha! :-)

    Congrats on the upgrade!!

Sledge...Not sure on the Jersey Brand I will see if I can't find an ID on it, no brand listed on the title though.

Happy...Yes, you have to pay around here 200-300 is my target. I've only dealt with a few cars so far and all family related. I've paid close attention to what folks do on the forum, got Kris Kringles checklist and Cory Couch on speed dial.

KZ, how many winches will you get out of the battery before you have to charge it up again?

Newattitude...Not for sure just yet, it is a deep cycle battery so I'm hoping 7-10. I will probably look at putting a small solar panel on there to keep it topped off.

Happy...Yes I will but also have the option of a Pull and Pay yard here that pays pretty good for complete cars.

Picked up the first car with the trailer today 2000 Chrysler Cirrus with seized motor due to timing belt failure. No issues and less then a mile from home.

Yes, My title says the Maufacturer was "Jersey Trailer" Although on a google search.. I don't think they exist anymore. Mine was built in 1995.. seems as if yours is of the same era. Love the "swooshy" white paint for "decoration" that is still somewhat visible on mine *snicker*
