Never used one but it looks good. It will pay for itself in one day.
Yes tax dollars are paying for these tools, but i have increased the recycling program profits at my job by a very large amount. Much of the extra profit gained was from me learning from this great resource SMF and applying it.

I want the helicopter, have lots of magnets!

I think I would ask for a Plasma Cutter. Much less hassle to operate than a torch set-up, unless the electricity needed would be a problem.

I could REALLY use a plasma cutter myself. However, on my budget, that isn't going to happen.

I googled prices on that thing and it's anywhere from $1600-$2800 + shipping. What are yall scrappin that'll pay for one in a day, and how do they call it "profit" ? ; )

$1900 included shipping & no tax. Scrapping copper cables, the thick stuff. Been piling it up because i have never really liked scrap yards prices for insulated wire. I get what your saying on the profit part, but thats what it is called for my department and we didnt buy it.

Well there's no doubt a ton (pardon the pun) of private scrappers who would love to have your problems ; )

The steel dragon wire stripper as seen in the video i posted was pretty disapointing.
It strips wire fast, but you have to adjust the height of the blade for every size wire.
Which isnt too bad if you have a bunch of the same size wire. It does not separate the insulation for you iow you have to pull insulation off after it cuts it. Overall quality is cheap. It is made in china, which i was decieved into thinking it was american made. Foot pedal already stopped working. Still oprates but you have to bend over to flip the off switch. I do not recommend this stripper.

Hand Held Band Saw. I absolutely love mine! I cut electric motor shells, motor shafts & the windings from transformers & electric motors. Just wish the budget allowed for a floor model power bandsaw.

Never used one before myself, but i will check into them. Someone else from thr forum said the really liked the one they had.
