I expect a 2000lb rated axle as well, likely same as this Lowes trailer Shop Carry-On Trailer 5-ft x 8-ft Wire Mesh Utility Trailer with Ramp Gate at Lowes.com
1650lb payload ain't half bad actually, even with some sides installed you'll need some hefty stuff to overload that one New
With that wide wheel base you don't need to worry much about it flipping, just load it evenly, avoid acrobatics, and don't drive too fast for extended periods, 12" tires turn fast at 70 mph, so your main concern would probably be burning the bearings up (did I recommend my once over axle check? ; )
I don't much care for those rear gates, maybe good for loading lawn equipment, still, it's gotta be about like pulling a sailboat backwards with its sail open, but, you've got to just kinda go with what you got now. I guess if it was me, I'd be looking for a way to "easy off" that gate and maybe finding a shorter substitution : )

^^^^No, the rail runs right over top of the stake pockets, its weird. that was the first thing I looked at and was left scratching my head, who designed that? lol

I see the rails run over the top. That's why I was wondering if you can put a short piece in from the bottom, and let it hit the top rail? Is there not room?

Congrats! are you going to put sides on at all? I have a similar trailer and ended up putting 30" sides all the way around

I am not sure if it was mentioned, but after looking at this again, I hope you are planning on moving the spare. I see 2 possible options. One would just be to flip it to the opposite side of the rail that it is on now. If that is not an option, then possibly look to see if there is enough clearance to mount it on the outside of the gate far to the bottom if there is enough clearance when the gate is dropped.

    Just checking.

    Love the deal.

I wasn't trying to slur any one. I merely suggested another option if NA didn't want to put holes in the trailer. I have seen square used on angle. Doesn't make it right, but it is what it is.

    We cool?

So heres the kick butt coolor I found- Tommy Bahama, love the side table and it has a bottle capper and catcher too! Put new lights on the trailer, one side was broken and duct taped.

hubby laughed when i told him of I don't use it for anything it looks like a kickass cooler puller anyways lol!! Other scrappers be jealous!!

Havent gotten to the sides yet but have used it for pulling those huge copiers my guy gives me and projection tv's that are too heavy to lift into the truck.

Still havent figured out where to put th spare either, I should just put it behind my truck seat.

ETA: it looks like that cooler was supposed to be part of a rolling cooler system, I just googled it -they go for over $100.00!!!!!!

I would get 2 big U Bolts the same diameter as the current tire studs and mount it to the up down beam just in front of the fender
Not going to stick out as far as the fender, so should be out of the way
Use same size lug nuts to mount it so if you have a 4 way to remove the flat >> You also have one to get the spare

I free handed in a paint program where I would mount it

I stuck my spare in the front center, sitting on top of the tongue. Basically where yours is now, just flipped over onto the front and centered. Still have plenty of room to spin the jack and such
