Um, ...a hammer drill is for drilling into concrete/masonry, ...might be better off with an impact for break downs.

For the same price and same voltage. I use an 18V variant and have no regrets in buying it.

Milwaukee hammer drills have a switch to turn it to regular drill. I have 18 volt Milwaukee tools. My impact driver is light weight, and probably the tools I use the most for breaking down scrap metal.
