I will eventually need a new truck or new engine, but those are long-term investments, possibly longer than the future of affordable gasoline. For less than a new engine there are some vehicles that would probably last as long as I could drive them. And I want to drive an El Camino sometime before they become extinct.

04 Ford "DANGER" ranger it's the smallest truck I have ever owned but its on a f 150 frame and suspension with the upgraded package it came with i bought it used for 5k cash! Of course it has already paid itself off many times over and the gas mileage isn't half bad either. let the trailer do all the heavy work it was free!

2002 Chevy 2500hd, ext cab, short bed, 4x4 with the LB7 Duramax. 165k miles... I have been pulling a 14 ft flatbed trailer with tandem 3500 pound axles, which have been overloaded a couple times... lol I'm trying to talk dad into going in with me as partners on a gooseneck flatbed trailer someday.

Trusty curb shopper. Original scrap truck. Made a lot and learned from this investment.

Heavy hauler f250 with 16 ft utility trailer. Bought the trailer very cheap outright with scrap sale profits, added the metal sides. Its paid for itself after 1 trip. Truck was a long term investment. I generally can make the payment with pure scrap metal sales, just like the trailer and s-10.

Does your f250 have the 5.4 gas motor? My dad has an '06 F250 with the 5.4, but we usually do the heavy towing with mine. The Ford truck itself can handle the weight but the 5.4 motor isn't much of a powerhouse IMO lol

When your used to having an s10 anything is a powerhouse. LoL! I don't think towing 8500 with another 2000 in the bed is exactly a lightweight. I'm already regretting not getting a 350. however, For the money, I'd rather have something newer that's not going to quit on me in the middle of the road. Than something with more towing cap that's questionable.

you have seen my other ones, but this is the one that started it all for me, doesnt see alot of action anymore and to be honest its a temporary (i hope) donor truck as ive had to take an alternator off of it and the moisture meter on the bottom of the fuel filter for one of the other trucks
