truck exhaust

I'm pimping out my ride..man!! Rat rodding so to speak. Ity is a old f150 1988, but frame is solid. And she is one tough cookie. Biggest I hauled was roughly 14k gvw between truck, trailer, and chevy venture van. I was able to do 25 on the hills and 45 straight. Perfect...beep beep out of my way. Only issue was stopping, but I drove truck and pretty much all kinds of equipment. SO i can control it. Plus Im modded the front brakes to f250 setup with bigger rotors and dual calipers in next few months.

Sorry sidetracking, anyway. In Pa state, I am a certified state inspection mechanic since 2004. Is there any laws in this state you can think of that will prevent dual stacks? My plan is 3 inch headers down to 2.5 collectors on the 302 v8 out to the middle of truck. Then in front of the wheel right angle out and up....just like a semi. Im thinking the longer cherry bombs would be cool. And I could always tack a shield on for safety.

Your thoughts? I know corvettes are legal running along the floorboards, so why not straight up? I see the diesel heads doing it all the time.

Sure.....in the planning stages now. I just found a brand new oil pan on ebay for 35 bucks shipped and rubber impregnated gasket for 20 shipped. So far easier to remove pan with exhaust down, so gonna be soon

I found this on Facebook on a trucker group I belong too. This is what I sparked my idea and I think its bad ass. Modeling after that. I actually know where there a few semi wrecking yards. So I might just buy some stacks and incorporate into my design. Yes I have cdl a and used to drive truck. Till I had my first major accident were I rolled a truck due to black ice this winter......so this is the closest I will get to a semi again

I was recently looking at utes for my son.
I was looking at this very clean looking example which appeared to be just a bit too clean. I noticed a sticker in the door jam that was from a company that straightened diffs and replaced/ repaired axles. Sure enough, the diff was clearly a lot newer and cleaner than everything else under the thing.

The seller made me sus when he was talking faster than a used car salesman to my son and trying to convince him what a great Ute it was. He was bragging about carrying double the rated weight in the thing from one side of the city to the other on numerous occasions and how well it still went. I was under the thing having a look and hearing what he was saying started having a closer look at the chassis rails. Within seconds I spotted a kink in chassis rail where the top lip was deformed and the paint was flaking off. I'd also noticed the front tyres were scrubbed out but it had newish looking front struts on the thing.

I pulled my head from under the thing and asked the guy if carrying double the rated weight was why the diff had to be repaired? The guy just looked, clearly trying to think of what to say next. Before he could get anything out I said " You should have had the chassis straightened out again as well, that's probably why you have run out of adjustment on the front suspension and the thing is still scrubbing out the front tyres."

I just nodded towards my truck to my son and started walking over and we drove off. Blabber mouth never uttered another peep.
Amazing how you can shut someone up who has been talking at 100 MPH for 5 min with just one simple statement you make.

Some other poor bugger will probably be caught out though. I may not have put it all together myself if he hadn't have been shooting his mouth off.

Thats the good thing 1988 f150 AMERICAN STEEL.... NOT Chinese steel or plastic......enough said lol. I havnt bent the frame or diff yet in mine. I ran 400 miles west to Mario with 1800lbs dragging ass nonethless, but she ran fine. Beefier springs will fix that.

check your state or municipal decibel laws

I am a pa state inspection mechanic and the book says nothing about noise level, just it must run from a to be with no holes. Now the cops opinions is another matter and you will have to argue the pa inspection code in court sometimes.

as long as the factory emission control device's aren't tampered with...which inna 88 f150 no problems. i have stacks on my truck. 07 dodge 2500. little different.

i used to see a guy around with with a 80s ford with galvanised pipe for stacks from a fence post. looked homemade lol

Strangely, a lot of the "brodozer" trucks here don't have them. I've seen a few people run out in the rain with a 5 gallon bucket

it was galvanized not sure he was worried about water. mine are miter cut. and stainless not worried about rain or snow. might take them off this winter. been looking at a contractors cap with a door on the back
