It's actually very easy. No different than if you were at an employer filling out the Ins. paperwork to sign up. IF YOU GO TO AN AGENT. There are people the gov't pays for this. They are hungry. They get paid per signup. They will bend over backwards to find something. They remind me of Dave Ramsey's ELP's.

Hummm ... there are some economic problems to consider. The free market is largely self regulating ( in theory anyway). Problems arise when government enters the free market in an effort to reshape it -or- regulate it in some way. This creates market distortions called " market bubbles ".
One of the more famous bubbles we have all heard about was the housing market bubble burst of 2008. That was brought on by Go-Go economic policy coming from "The Fed" in prior years which overheated the economy.
What most people don't realize is that government interventions in the healthcare market (ie: Obamacare ) have created a healthcare bubble which could burst at any time. These " Healthcare insurance agents " are roughly equivalent to the sub prime mortgage brokers of the early to mid 2000's. They're hungry little devils .... and we will just leave it at that.
Anyhow ... i don't think it's a question of if a bubble exists but rather when the bubble is going to burst and leave the U.S. healthcare system in deep financial distress. In the meantime ... the financial sector (read insurance industry) is likely to grab as much money as it can before Humpty Dumpty falls off the wall.
~ Just a heads up. ~

You keep fighting this and I don't understand why. If it bursts, you'll at least have had insurance while it was there and were able to take advantage of it. They won't take your first born for this.
The gov't is giving the kick backs to agents so it takes the pressure off them. Other wise what incentitve would there be?
You're out nothing to try. So many people keep going on rumors, especially on this site. Yes, there are some stories of people getting screwed. But most of you act like it's everyone, everyday, all the time.
"I haven't gotten my stimulus. I'm getting screwed." If you don't get it now, you'll get it at tax time. Not a big deal.
The only reason I say this is because it really appears you don't understand how it works. The free market was told to come up with plans that work. There are a lot of things they changed over the past few years to make it more ecconomically sensible. Yes, the free market is involved. But they truly do want everyone to have insurance. Insurance was never meant to cover all medical. It was there to lessen the blow of large payouts. Lot of routine things are now covered automatically by insurance.

It has become obvious why you haven't discovered the thanks button, you think your above us. Your coming across as a government employee working for healthcare.
When you American healthcare system comes inline with our Canadian healthcare you'll have something to crow about.

I don't doubt for a minute that there are some sincerely good intentions here.
It would be uncommonly difficult to go into this in depth. I'm hard put to give you a clear and concise answer as it has more to do with the sum of everything i've learned in life so far.
I'll try it this way : You might think of me as being an outlier. I try to avoid the healthcare system as much as possible.
The healthcare folks are kinda like my crazy neighbors down the road. I prefer to mind my own business and keep to myself so that i don't get caught up in the pitfalls of their life choices. It's like ... okay ... you live your life and i will live mine. Live and let live. Peace !
They don't like that. They don't believe in live and let live. They came up to my door with friendly invites to go party with them because they were running out of money for drugs and alcohol. A week or so later they came to my door demanding extortion money because they were getting desperate. Pay up .... or else !
It's like the drowning man. He will pull you under with him in an effort to save himself. It's instinctive. It's my job to protect my own best interest and not allow him to do that.
It probably doesn't make sense does it ?

When your education system come in line with ours, let me know.
I refuse to use the thanks button. I don't thumbs up things. That stuff gets handed out like participation trophies.
Let us know when you plan on having your heart attack. You have to what, schedule medical operations 3 years out?
Thats right folks. 70 years of experience there, and it comes down to calling people poopy heads.

From a splitting maul, to thumbs up, to milk jugs. What a train wreck.
Give back more to this world than we take.
Not everyone can work for 15 years and live off a gov't pension.

Since this quote was right after my post, it is assumed it was sent in my direction. FYI 30 years in public education was supplemented with work as a finish carpenter, mill wright, welder, quote specialist, consultant, wrangler, hunting guide, fishing guide, and outdoor survival guide. Education as a profession does not feed a family unless it can be supplemented. There is no government assistance much less pension to survive on.
Obamacare has created more problems than it solved in this part of the US. Please enlighten us on how you found the answer that so many crave. As a greenhorn, a simple explanation would be appreciated.

Similar situation here as well. One corporation has assimilated every healthcare outlet within a hundred miles. It created a monopoly and healthcare costs have skyrocketed.
Bad things happen when government gets into cahoots with private industry.
Conservative economists have been warning us against this for close to a hundred years now. It's one of the patterns they observed in the early 1900's as governments in Europe started shifting left into Socialist and Communist economic systems. It's not an overnight thing. It's an inchy process. An inch here ... an inch there ... and all the little changes add up to big changes in time.
