Storage space?

I see alot of you all ways looking for more space either its taking down a storage building on someone land or this or that....here is something I had looked into before but still have not had time to mess with.



Building a storage out of used pallets. You can get them free for the most part...they are like small walls when they are stacked on end you can place them anyway you like. They are very strong.

Something to look into...if you need more space..look into building one with pallets.

Agreed on the pallets. My neighbor framed his house with pallets.

I have seen some building with a 2ed floor.

Don't forget that a pallet can hold 800+ pounds easy. So if you frame them up right they will hold a good bit..but just about anyone can use them to build a one level storage building.

It works even better if you reinforce them with 2x4s or something. I have a manufacturing plant near my main storage garage that has a pile of free pallets outside, so that should work if I ever run out of space

Using 1/2" osb plywood (about 8-10 bucks sheet @Home Depot)for your exterior sheathing will give you amazing shear strength. Screw it off 6-8'' centers vertically and 16'' centers horizontally. Try not to break any osb seams on any pallet seams.

One heck of a way to recycle. If I had the land, I would build my daughters one heck of a play house!. FREE wood pallets are a dime a dozen around here.

Just an expression. Meaning there is hundreds always available in about 4 close by cities that I know of. All with in an hour from me.

I keep hearing about a place that will pay $1 to $3 per pallet, but have yet to find the place.

Still though, I wish I had the land, or knew of the place around here that took them. I could make a few thousand every month just off of pallets alone, if the price people keep telling me is accurate.

Yea its from 60cents to $3 each.

its based on if its parts, b or grade a

if parts...your going to get very little for it

grade B is anything that does not look brand new an or has cracks

grade A is anything that looks BRAND new and has NO cracks in the runners...they have to be 40 by 48 and be a "4way" pallet.
