Ask the scrap yard you are taking your stuff to if you are that hard up for a magnet lol. I am willing to bet they have one at the scale or at the office and guess what its the only free thing you will ever get from them in most cases.

im sorry this isnt about magnets but i think one of the most usefull tools is a sledgehammer and a good tire plug kit. Suckks to have a flat and miss closing time for the scrap yard.
read the first post, the whole thing isnt about magnets. yeah lol a drill and grinder are good but nothing replkaces a good ol' sledgehammer. thanks
I also find a file or a grinder to be useful at times.. If you are having a hard time figuring out what type of material you can mark it with them.. also if you grind the material and it sparks but doesn't stick to a magnet it is stainless. And the best tool of all I can see yet isn't mentioned.. This FORUM lol.
sawzall, angle grinder w/thin cutoff wheel, hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammet, etc.) gps, cell phone, truck. everything else like experience and information will fall into place as you need it.
