My father in law gets a gun magazine delivered periodically to his house. I happened to be there this morning when the mail arrived. Was looking through it, and noticed some coupons from Harbor Freight.
They have a 4-1/2" Angle Grinder by Drill Master for sale for $10.
Anyone have any experience with this particular one?
It does say the grinder wheel is sold separately.
They also have a 5,000lb winch for $140 as well.

not sure about that but if you're looking a at winch for your trailer, I can vouch for the 9000 lb winch, out here in california there's coupons in the magazines for $250. Get at least a one year replacement plan for an extra $30 and you can take your winch back in 11 months and get another new one free no questions asked. For $10 you might as well try the grinder, if it breaks in less than a month you can get another one for free or just get your money back.

I'm planning on getting the same $9.99 angle grinder. I've never had a problem with thier corded power tools but I would pass on anything cordless from them. That's just from my experience.

the drill master one is pretty good, i had one till my dad dropped the garage door on it and broke it. now it use some $30 model from home depot he replaced it with.

All my cordless stuff comes from Home Depot or Lowes, and is all Dewalt stuff.
Will have to try it out then. As Collins stated, it is just $10.

Looks to be about the same one from what I can tell. Could be wrong, but it does look like it.

I bought the Chicago Electric one a few years ago...only paid like 15-20 on it on sale (it's orange, drill master is blue?)...anyway I never had a problem with it.
My brother bought a Chicago Electric sawzall...burned out the first time he used it...he's too lazy/dumb to bring it back.
I've had 3 from HF. 1st one is still going strong after 5 years. I got another just like it and burnt it out in a few weeks, even used up all the brushes they included. Got another one with a paddle switch so it's easier to turn on when wearing gloves. I'm hard on it to where the wheel will stop at times, or work it to near max, getting it really hot and it keeps on working.

I have it but it's still in the box. No power in my storage unit to test it out.
I was planning on buying the $90 HF generator, but I was in there recently and someone was returning 2 of them that crapped out. Made me second guess them.
Does the storage unit have a light in it? If it's a light bulb, they make an adaptor so you can use the bulb and plug something in.

I should have clarified for incandescent. I haven't ever seen anything for a florescent. Not even sure how it would work on one of those.

You get what you pay for. $90.00 for a generator just sounds to good to be true. If you plan on using a gen for scrapping then save up and get a good unit not some fall apart china junk. In the long run you will save the cost of replacement and repairs.
Geo I have picked up these deals on the grinders before, do yourself a favor and just throw three of them in your cart. Just trust me you will save in gas and time.
My next grinder will be the 7" Makita, I figure I will just lay out the cash and it will be the last one I will ever need to buy. I have a Makita circular saw that is about 25 years old and still out cuts a Crapsman saw any day! The 7" blades are a huge savings over the 4" and 4.5 " blades. Also think of the time saved changing blades.
Put a Makita in your hands and feel the power!
Disclamer; No I don't work for Makita, I just know I can rely on there tools.

No lights. I wish it were that easy. I plan on at least a Coleman genny but I would like to just get a small Honda one and be done. Looking for small and reliable at the moment.
Not to derail the thread but does anyone know of something that would hook to a car battery (engine running) to run power from? I noticed a guy with a "man cave" storage unit complete with lighting and a checkered floor. He had his hood popped and his car running at the time. Feel free to PM me as not to clutter this post.

He likely was using an inverter. Or an engine driven power source.
You could power it from your vehicle, or get a deep cycle battery. Get 2 batteries, keep one at home charged up and one at the unit.
After awhile you start getting into money and it might be better to find a quality used set of cordless tools.

I have their air chisel and my dad has one of their air wrenches and for what we use them for they work great! I haven't had any problems with any tools from them so far.

I bought the cheapest one HF offers a couple weeks ago. The thumb stud that keeps the head from turning so that the disk can be changed broke on day 1. I returned it and got the next most expensive one, it was like a $5 or $6 difference. I have worked the hell out of it and had no issues. It seems to be the better buy.

One trip down many more to go. With a good tool it will last years and years not weeks or months. Paying a little more for a real tool will save many gas using time consuming shopping trips.
