What do you think of this truck??

I was popping around and came by an ad for this truck....it seems really nice...so let me know what you think...

1993 Ford F-700 Diesel Box Truck with sleeper, lift gate, and generator.
24,500 lb GVWR so it can be driven with class C license.

Truck has around 200k miles. 5.9L Cummins engine with a Bosch pump. Engine runs great. Does leak oil as most diesels do, but does not burn it. Starts easy. Great fuel economy for this size of truck. I Average 11.7 mi/gal.

5 speed Eaton 4005 transmission. I replaced the main shaft, reverse gear, rear bearings and all seals around 170k mi. Has Chelsea PTO which works but is not driving anything right now.

    Rockwell 2 speed axle.

    Has remote start.

It has a 6'x8' kenworth sleeper. It has '03 bucket seats with power drivers seat. 1500 watt DC/AC inverter. 110v 6500 BTU AC in sleeper.

Gauges work with exception to odometer and fuel gauge (will work with new sending unit)

    130 gal fuel capacity.

New Front tires. Rear tires have decent tread.

Has 4000 watt generator mounted under the box.

The box is a '06 14' Morgan with fiberglass top. No damage, and no leaks.

Has 2000 lb Maxon lift gate.

Has receiver hitch which can be easily removed to operate lift gate.

It leaves something to be desired cosmetically, but mechanically it is in good shape. I drive it and work out of it every day. I cover 4 states with my work and this truck does the job fine. I have decided to switch to a motorhome pulling a tool trailer. That is why I am selling. It will continue to be on the road until I sell it so viewing will have to be done by appointment.

Truck sounds great...but I have a feeling the miles are way over the 200k as he even said its not working and he drives it every day...so..how far off are they?? Other than that....the truck seems good....need to get over there and check it out and take my diesel teck with me...but what kind of fuel mileage do YOU think this truck really gets? Any info you know about this type of truck would be great to know.

Not bad but if you have to dump 4900 into it to begin with sight unseen and it has problems already. You def want a mechanic to drive it and do a thorough inspection of it. I would get an estimate from said mechanic to get it back up to speed and running like a champ. I hope it works out for you though.

Im not 100% positive but since it is over 10000 gvwr you must have a class d license which is a chauffeur license not a CDL.

Might look at dovebid.com. I bought 11 step vans through them. They liquidate assets from Frito-Lay, Pepsi, etc

I need/want dock high and lift gate so the uhaul trucks dont fit the bill. I have a teck guy who knows all about big rigs and has the computer to run a motor checks on it....they said it gets 11 something to the gallon...teck guy said he thinks it will get 6 to 7 to a gallon...I know some of ya'll owned some pretty good size trucks and there are a few truckers on here...did not know if any of them would know this motor off hand and would have good/bad news

Easy i would say look at it and see what kind of shape it is really in.Miles really dont matter as long as it was taken care of and maintained right.

Also it should get around 10mpg or so.Also it is the same cummins like in the pick up with a few minor differences.
