I would not buy any pick-up truck with 13000 mi. for $6900.
The resale will never be that much, especially if it's dinged up from working scrap.
One time I looked at a truck that the guy claimed had a new motor, luckily my brother (who's an exccellent pro mechanic) was with me, he asked the guy, "new motor , but you didn't bother to change the valve covers, eh???"
Anyway he proceeded to call "B.S." on the guy big time who grinned , cause he knew he'd been busted.
I owned a Dodge caravan, paid 1300 (asking Price was $1800) while my ex-wife was out of town...
It had about 130k mi. , by the time she got back (month later) the transmission had died ...she was like where's your $$$
And I had to explain ...wanted the new van to be a surprise, it was alright.
All caravans had a sh*tty trans.
I don't like Dodge anyway , despite they seem tough, they're not, and a bunch are put together in Brazil plant by basically monkeys these days. Hard to admit to a guy username of Ram though.
Just my.02 is all.
IF I'm wrong, you can tell me "I told you so" but if I'm right ...I don't like to say that...
But if you don't buy it it will save you some grief and a BAD investment IMO is all...
I've always been a chevy guy, but Ford makes the best trucks. It's true.
EDIT: dang, for less than $6900 total I could have a new 5.0 liter and trans. dropped in my F-150, then it will have -0- miles on motor/trans. ...what I plan on when it dies.
Oh, diesel is good and all, but when it does have a problem, it will be a MAJOR repair. (expensive)...
IF one gets into Bio-Diesel (vegetable oil, processed with lye, then methanol added to boost octane, IIRC)
It's a tax write-off and costs around $1 gallon as well...I'm waiting till I get Isuzu NPR or mitsubishi Fuso truck for that stuff though...besides it Gels up if sitting too long I heard.
well, Good luck! God Bless (and be with you, I pray)!
