Driver set for (cordless) drill

I just got this Ryobi driver set from Home Depot yesterday and looks like it has about everything I'll ever need as far as screwdrivers, Hex, Torks, Square head and Slotted. There are adapters to use 1/4", 3/8 and 1/2" sockets. There are separate drivers for 3/16", 1/4", 5/16" 3/8" 7/16" and 1/2" nuts.

Cost $20.

I suppose it'd work with a corded drill, too. Just that I use a corded drill just for drilling.

The part on the bottom left flips up. There are six more under there.

one other thing you might run in to with small appliances is those security screws, does it have any tips for that ?

i buy a new set probably every month always losing something, the last one i got was a huge dewalt kit home depot had on clearance for $15 i dont know why i didnt buy all of them

Yes, there is a set of common Torx (I misspelled as Torks) bits.

I hate buying "whole sets" of bits, cause I keep breaking/stripping the same ones. I have a ton of random bits that I never use. I need to go to costco and buy a pallet of the ones I use up every day...

Was just about to post along those lines.

Does anyone have a good source for buying individual torx bits? I can buy every other bit I need, but can only ever find those in sets.

Type in torx bit in the search bar. Should have everything down to T4.

it's like a torx with a hole in the middle, and a pin in the middle of the hole, if i recall correctly, i haven't bought any of them yet, but found an appliance once that i needed them on

Those are the security torx. You might also find them singly at Menards, might be cheaper than Ace.

I think he is referring to the speciality bits farther down on the page. I have some scrap that's waiting to be broken down that has something similar to the tri-wing.

The set I bought has the tri wing and most of the different security screws.

I see bulk packs of bits on ebay. Search for 'bulk torx' or whatever bit you're looking for.

So far they have been holding up. Have used mostly just the torx bits from the set. I turn the torque setting down on my drill, rather have it ratchet against the torque stop than twist off bits or strip screws. Sometimes a few quick smacks with a hammer on a bolt or screw head is all it takes to get the really tight ones loosen up.

My local menards does sell individual torx, hex, and most other common bits. I keep my Gearwrench ratcheting set with me at all times, just the ones I used to strip all the time I have swapped out for titanium bits of the same style. At a little under $2 for a 2-pack of a certain type, it seems like alot for 2 bits. But considering ive been using the same #2 phillips bit for well over a year now (and I do alot of projects) I really dont think you can beat it
