Well, if your gonna scrap, you might as well scrap in style. lol

One of my buddies that used to haul campers with me changed seats in his newer dualie. He put in a set of Corvette silver anniversary seats, said "if he had to spend 16 hours a day in the truck, at least he was going to do it in style".

The yard I haul in to was telling me that last week a guy was hauling junk in a Saturn View (his girlfriend's). He had stuff sticking out the windows. Of course he was all messed up on pills. After stopping on the scale to get his empty weight, the secretary gave him the go ahead and he went to take off, driving off the side of the scale (a foot and a half or so drop), smashing into something at the bottom, deploying both airbags. After they picked it up with the forklift, he went looking for something to cut the airbags with so he could see to drive it home. One smart fella....

I use a mini van for awhile, take the seats out, and you have plenty of room.

I hate these people at yards. They always take too long to unload and never know what they are doing. Wish they would leave it to the pros.

well it is pretty simple if you are trying to strap stuff down on top of your car to scrap and maybe get $10.00

Then go ahead and waste your time and look like a idiot doing it

i cant see the problem with someone scrapping with "unconventional" vehicles, i mean if they are obviously a junky or whatever thats one thing, but to judge everyone because they don't use a nice truck and "leave it to the professionals" is a bit ignorant in my opinion.

really some of these people are demonstrating true ingenuity with what they can pack into a car or on a bike, and personally i believe that is something that general society needs, i mean at least they are using the resources they have to the best of there ability, which is more than can be said for many Americans today.

BTW i used to haul computers from auctions to our office for refurbishing in my SAAB 9-3, so i guess that would make me "unprofessional" even thought i am Comptia A+ certified, and sold $1500+ worth of computers every week at the time.
(you can get 30+ towers at a time in one of those cars and still get 25MPG it was great, i was sad when that car finally died @350,000miles)

I fit $730 worth of non ferrous items in my 2002 Chevy Cavalier once. I didn't have to leave anything behind for a second trip and got 35 mpg doing it. Good luck doing that with any pick up on the market!
