Idaho may be right as well - if it's an 8-sided star, you need a square head, not a torx.
You get what you pay for - Harbor Freight and Tractor Supply are ok, but most of their tools are really what I consider light-duty. Don't know if you've got a Graingers anywhere near you (there are 4 in Minnesota, but two of them are in the St. Paul/Bloomington area, but that's where I go for heavier duty tools. They've got a T27 impact bit for $4.91
