My "new" trailer up and running.

Finally finished my trailer. Started out as a yellow basket case but after some paint, new coupling, new lights, new tires (freaking expensive) and a custom set of rear barn doors she is finished!!! Its 6x12 and can hold a boat load of $crap!!! I contemplated a drop gate in the rear but the decided it would just get in the way of me tossing the load off at the yard. I designed the barn doors so I can actually take each door of and use them as a pair of ramps if needed. I had to keep them light for that purpose. Just waiting for it's maiden voyage.

    Well done.

As for the doors you could have fabricated it to be a 2 way. I would try explaining it but I suck at such things.

Very nice! Have you considered building them for others? You obviously have a talent for it!

I want tall sides like that. I think all those trailers are custom made here as well, as I have only seen like 5 or 6 of them!

Thanks for all the compliments. I had alot of help from a friend in the autobody business. Those guys can make anything work, lol. The sides were a must. I have been using a 4x8 trailer for the past few months that I picked up for $50.00 from an older gentleman. That little bugger has made me alot of cash. It can be pulled by anything and I am still going to use it for picking up smaller loads then just transfer them to this one. Im trying to mind my "carbon footprint".

I think I know what you are talking about. Your like me, I have the idea in my head, but the blueprints are something else. We tried to keep it as simple and light as possible. For me, the less moving parts, the better. One less thing I can break ; )

You will be glad to have tandum axle trailer when you have a flat and hauling about 1500 lbs. Much easier to change the tire plus with single axle if you have a flat with a load, they can shift and tip the trailer over. Good job building that trailer, wish I had one like that.

Man! That's cool! Mine's only 4x10, and that's a Very limiting size. Sides aren't as high either. 6x12 would be super!(almost twice the floor space, and at least 3 times the capacity) Did the kid with the grocery cart go with it? (you'll have yourself a helper there in about 15 years ; )

The only thing I would have done different is make the sides not-see-throughable. Keep prying eyes out of my stuff!

Very nice trailer , I like how it has tandems , I wish my 6.4 X 12 ft. Holmes ( 2090 # )was a tandem , but I love the two foot steel sides on it .
    Bandit
    Ps
As someone else mentioned , solid sides are nice , they really frustrate the other dealers when You are waiting in line to enter a flea market . LOL
