The questions in mind is what is the profit for them and will this create a market for the CRT screens. If it does I see LOTS of environmental fines on the way as more people start scrapping them. I believe Ill pass
Thats why its in the UK alot less EPA action going on overseas. If there wasnt a profit in it I dont think they would have built it either. Looks cool to me.
I bet a good portion of it was paid with federal funds or a grant. Tax payer dollars in action.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE
What im wondering is if it profitable enough to be shipped in from overseas. I have no clue as to what leaded glass is worth
This company has a contract to build one of these in the US. Where? I don't know.

I put out adds that i buy crts and i dont get any replies or not more than 1 or 2 crts at a time, how does this company think there gonna move in and setup a smelter and be able to keep it running with a limited supply of stock? Im assuming they would have to pay atleast $1 each for crts to be able to keep enough stock coming in to run it. Or maybe they just get the glass from other companies that strip the crts?
Hey, if we (taxpayers) can gamble $500 million on Solyndra, certainly we can invest 1/10th of that in a few companies spread out around the US to do this. In fact, I think Warren Buffet would be happy to donate that to the cause.
The tax payers dont gamble, its the elected officials that do with our money. Warren buffet bought BOA shares, everyone thought it was a bad move. It tanked 30% right after he moved in, 6 months later and look at it now he ended up with a nice 20% profit.
Yes, you are right, it was our wonderful leaders that gambled with our money. Funny how we keep electing them back into office after such failures ***sigh***
This company won't have any issues finding CRT glass. They won't have to worry about paying for it either. If it is done in an environmentally friendly way people will be willing to pay.
