jord I'm so jealous, I even bought a cheap jigsaw to make some of those tire swings that look like saddles.

has anyone state side hauled TVs up north? what's all needs to be done with customs?
Matty,
If you have room to set up a shop and store 44 pallets of electronics (tvs and monitors included), I can give you the name of a company in Buffalo. You have to act as a free electronic drop off site. They come pick up when you have a trailer load (44 pallets). They quoted me 4 cents a pound last fall, with a 1 year contract.
We have a buyer here already who will buy CRT's and the like in Toronto they will work out all customs and shipping to them they have there own broker. One of my customer has already sent a few loads to them and has had great results.
Govern,
In the buyers section?? Are you talking full truck loads or LTL?
Thanks
It's insane to think you get paid the same for tires that my yard pays for insulated wire . It's really interesting to hear the group of older gents talk of days past . Where ya got .45 # for copper. And .04 # for shred . There is a few guys i know who are very friendly and always share stories or advise .
Im getting .15 cents a lbs for TV's, monitors e-waste 9doesnt include computers I break them down for more) here wires cut or not. in Whitby Ontario.
im only 34 years old and when i started junking,,,shred was .85 cents per hundred, cars were 1.35, short iron was 2.25... copper stayed between 60 to 80 cents per pound ....i remember cars jumped to 5.00 per hundred and i thought i was going to be rich.....
there was very little competition back then....when the prices rose it created a bunch of new scrappers .....not to mention that lots of folks think there scrap is worth way more than it is now..
I wish I was getting $0.15/lb. Here in Norcal I am getting $0.05/lb. Can be stripped of components and does not matter what the bezel/frame is made of. Only requirement is that the tube be intact.

Sirscrapalot - I must say I find television very educational. The minute somebody turns it on, I go to the library and read a good book. - Groucho Marx
