Filled my longbed pick-up with Tv & Satellite boards and more

Hi all! Responded to little haul away gig this evening. Someone offering $20 to haul ewaste away. Cool! Woulda done it just for the scrap. The photo looked like four or five bins but when I got there I saw this:

1.5 hours later my longbed truck looked like this:

The overwhelming majority of this are a mix of tv, vcr, dvd and dish receiver boards. There are some whole LCD monitors, several whole dish receiver boxes with hard drives, LOTS of resisters and capacitors still in their packaging and more. Plus picked up a long roll of romex wire! All in all it's a pretty good haul. The extruded from all these boards alone would make it worthwhile. Just wish there was a local buyer in Las Vegas for ewaste beyond motherboards. Lots will take, none will buy.

Hey, just curious about Vegas with all the casinos - aren't there a ton of video gambling machines there that would routinely get tossed as they break down? Then again, I could see that maybe being a proprietary kind of thing that they would only allow certain vendors to dispose of. Seems there would be a lot of other "stuff", non gaming related getting trashed from all that activity. I've still not been there - I need to get out there someday.

There are but you have to be contracted and in order to be contracted you need a business license. I only just got Nevada residency so now I can try to get those but it's a long shot. Much more likely is working with a repair service. And I stay away from the Strip as much as possible. It's only neat the first time and all the neon and kitsch is a bit much. Lots of other great stuff to see here though! We're in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains and desert. There's some nice museums and then all the normal stuff with cities (food, drinking, dancing, etc).
