Well, I personally have never heard of a big CRT monitor. Now flat panel pc monitors, I have seen them literally as big as TV's. This was from Costco though.

If anyone lives in or near Washington State I know that my trash service, Lemay Inc, takes any and all electronics. You can't put them in the trash any more as it is illegal up here now but I know on post, Fort Lewis, they have a recycling center for everything you can think of except freon items and I always take my broken down tube tvs/monitors there. They always know they are already gutted but I usually go in uniform so they don't say anything. Guess they don't think a soldier could be a scrapper. But this is for anyone who lives up in this area. Maybe others might offer the same thing in other states. Also, if you live here and pay to recycle them or do it the wrong way just send me a pm and ill help you dispose of them free of charge on post.

I actually had a 19" inch CRT that had tamper proof screws just at the top. Not having a torx set, I proceed to break apart the plastic at the top of the TV. There was a hole by each screw that was the size of my fist. I took it and 4 other TV's that I stripped to Best Buy. I thought for sure that they would give hard time over the busted up TV. Instead, they thanked me for recycling.

I have been scrapping for 5 months. I had a glass disposal source for crt tubes, but I was just told they couldn't take them from me anymore.

Looking for a good disposal option for greater Cincinnati area.

So far no luck and I have 100's of crt monitors.

    thanks
