Disposal of CRT tubes on long island

For those of us on long island I recvd the new schedule for town of oyster bay dump. In it I found this item, " home owners do not have to wait for designated days to dispose of ewaste. All ewaste can be brought to dump any day between 7 a.m. and 230 p.m." This includes CRT tv tubes. Check your town schedules as all towns on the island may have different rules.

There's lots of places in New York State where CRT tubes can be dropped off for free. I posted a link about a week and a half ago in the non-metal recycling forum. It's still on top.

Yeah, TV tubes can be a pain in the neck. Fortunately we have about six or seven places in Monroe County that accepts them. I've used two of them this past week. I just slap the back cover back on and they don't even seem to notice (or care) that they've been gutted.
