You should just snap the little glass pigtail thats inside the ring of the small pins on the rear of the screen, where the plug is.
That lets the air in & from then onwards the screen won't explode when it gets broken by accident.

I just grab the plug & board stuck on the the rear of the screen & twist it sideways like I am undoing it. I looking elsewhere & with my eyes closed at the time.
I hear it snap & the air woosh in & then I'm safe to remove the yoke & degausser & the rest of the copper & ali heatsinks.



Boy, when they explode, they really explode, I can see the shockwave fly off it at the time. 6 Foot radius of broken glass shards 1 - 3inches long.
