It's not a must, it's just that I used to do this many years ago and had a rollback and life was easy. But I don't want to spend the money / pay the insurance for a rollback. So I was thinking that a tilt bed would be similar. My main concern is cars with no wheels.Quote:

what does a beavertail truck look like? i wasnt to interested because he said it needed another set of ramps but if the winch could pull a car up i would be happy with it.... i know he said flatdeck with beaver tail&winch, NOT a rollback...

i was watching gears on speed yesterday and they had a trailer on there telling you what you could do with a winch and how to keep your battery charged up to winch the vehicles on to the trailer.they had a solar powered charger mounted on top of the tool box that keeps the battery charged up to full charge to run the winch.i just thought i would pass that tip alo.g to you guys.

That's a very good question, well actually I've only had the trailer for about two months. I had an 18 foot full deck trailer but I sold it because I got laid off from my job then I bought this one because I had originally planned on starting a car hauling business but my job called me back so now I just use it to haul Junk cars. It works pretty good but I will admit that the 18 foot trailer was a lot better as far as picking up junk cars and no I don't get enough Business to justify the 40 foot trailer Especially since now I work six days per week At my job driving for the post office. I really don't have the time to do it like I used to and I always make sure all the cars have the tires on them before I pick them up.

Since the truck is my office, It has heated leather seats
Also has the BOSS V plow for winter money

I use a short 2 car trailer that lifts the first one, slight beaver tail on the back
Ramps slide into the back of the trailer just under where they hook onto the trailer >> Easy out of the way storage
Ramp ridge goes all the way across the back of the trailer so I can adjust the width of the ramps as needed
2 winches incase 1 breaks
3 hand winches (marked with red arrows) with 4" straps along the side so if getting a car I know I am going to scrap, I just toss the straps over the top
Lots of D rings >> You never know what you will be getting
Also holes in the deck for hooks

This is true in alot of states, here in ny any pickup over 5990lbs has to be registered as commercial..or you can be like me and transfer your plates and rock passenger plates on your dually;)Quote:

Florida is like 5000 lbs. I just got a 1 ton dually and the only difference I saw was that they charged me more and you renew Dec 31 instead of your birthday. You also had to choose a max weight including passengers. The min was 5999, but that would be pretty much the truck and driver with one passenger. I choose 7999. I would have to look and check what all I was charged, but I think in the end my yearly reg cost will be like $175.Quote:

This looks nice, it has a 16'x82" deck. 8 lug wheels, 6000lb axles. (Tires/wheel could match my truck, good just in case for spare situations)

Get a Benlee system..Alot more money, but worth it in my mind. They sell crushed car haulers I think.
