as far as bidding on the cars like john said 200 a ton is easy to figure 10 cents a lb which is what i base my estimate on no matter what scrap is buying for, i have a $200 mininum for a complete car with title, so my bids would be
tempos $200 apiece
taurus $ 200 to 250
grand caravan 200 to 400
70s van 200 to 400
vw car $200
cordoba dont know what it is but 200
the ranges are because i buy all my cars on the fly on the phone, this doesnt pertain to you because its your neighbor but,,,, i dont ever look at them until a deal is made you dont want anything swaying your judgement, listen while they are describing the car, a VERY WISE MAN on this site says profit begins when your buy, if they say they want it out of my yard or the wife said it has to go, start out at $200 or even less no matter the vehicle they will probably say yes,. in your situation id offer 1000 and just see if they take it. on the cats don't count on any of the fords being full some will be but i assure you outa 4 fords you will have some empties , they are the cheapest of cats except aftemarkets and the hardest to cut off. the chysler depending on the van could be tricky but are almost always full and pay pretty good. the vw ive never had one but would be a foriegn of some sort, NEVER count on your cats for profit as i had 1 empty today and of course it was a ford
