Picked up 6 today got 4 processed and hauled in.Had a taurus with factory wheels popped the center cap off and there was 1 locking lug nut on each wheel.Needless to say the lock wasnt't anywhere in the car.The loader guy tried to break them for me but no luck.I may try to take a socket to try to get them off or i might just say forget it.I will still make over $100 on the car but another 60-70 would be nicer lol.

I have 2 on the trailer to haul in tomorrow morning then 2 more to pick up and process and 1 to pick up on wednesday the i am taking alittle break. When i haul my wheels, cats and stuff in i will take a picture and post what i have in everything.

I have a question i need advise on building some racks for my truck. What do i need to build them out of?

I've always used 1-1/2" square tubing for pickup box racks, in 1/8" wall. It cuts nicely with an abrasive cutoff saw or metal cutting bandsaw and is heavy enough to weld easily.

As you can see in my photo
    I use 2X4's and 2X6's
I place the front to back 2X6's inside the up & down supports
so when there is a load it is pushing against the 2X6's holding them tighter against the supports verses trying to push them off the supports and rip the nails/screws out if they were on the outside

So today i got a 99 300m with 4 flat tires and the rear driver side tire was wrecked and bent in and wouldn't turn.Had to break the ignition so i could get the wheel to turn since there was not a key.Get all of that done and put the wife in there steering start winch get it almost all the way on the trailer and here a boom a bolt had come out of the front of the winch and it twisted and **** near broke the winch in half almost. So needless to say now i need a new winch.
Luckily they had a back hoe and helped me finish loading the car up.

How much are you buyin cars for at the auction? If you dont mind me askin. Iv thought about it but with the price of shed here (140/ton) it just doesnt seem worth it. After taxes and buyers premiums. Iv checked the run lists of previous auctions and the cheapest ones i could find where like 400 bucks.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Forget about buying cars up here at auction for scrap, better off concentrating on the gp (general public) they are far superior customers in my opinion.
At 140$ it really sucks, just remember, let the customers be aware that scrap is low and lower your buying price accordingly. Others have already.
Sitting on a few till the price goes up myself. 155$ here.

People around me dont care what prices are at. I tell them and have had a few say "ya so?" they dont get it. Had someone tell me another guy offered him 340 bucks for an explorer. Too much. Offered 220. Said no thanks lol

yeah i built some cheap quick ones with a some 2x2's and some pressed board for a temporary setup for my load yesterday. Also yeah i plan on getting the 12k winch from harbor freight also.Dont really used it much but if i get 4-5 cars lined up from people then i will go ahead and get it.They load them for me at the auction so i can kind of hold off if i need to for alittle while.
