You're definitely doing something right. I've lost count how many emails or texts asking what I'll pay for XYZ. I tell them what I know I can pay sight unseen, then I usually don't hear back or they say they paid whatever and need more than I can scrap it for.
Need to revamp my strategy. I think from here on out I'll just tell them I have to see the car first before I can make an offer. Sounds like a no brainer but sometimes it takes awhile for an idea to hit me over the head.
Hoping by being in person and showing the cash will get them motivated to sell on the spot.
Just yesterday I had a text about a '90 hatchback Civic. I said I could do $200 to $250 and he went on about how he paid 200 and just wants it gone (okay, I offered 200 to 250?), has full interior, he fixed the clutch cable blah blah blah but needs a fender, throttle spring, etc.
Dude, it's a '90 pos. Sell it or don't. Anyways he asked when I could come. I said now. He hasn't replied. Must not be serious about selling.
