Yes the Pajero is Japanese grey market import, mine had 75,000 Km on it when I purchased it. The only problem if you call it that is paying for coffee at Tim Hortens if your traveling alone.
Engine is a 2.8 liter Inter-cooled turbo diesel, from what I've read in the service manual overhauling the injectors and pump is relatively easy. I may have to order my parts from the UK or Australia where these were common vehicles. I have the high pressure pump that is used for testing the fuel spray and setting the shims.
The only problem I have had so far I had to rebuild the rear slave cylinders for the disc brakes, yea it has discs all four corners, the overhaul kit came from the UK, if you don't mind waiting for parts these Jap imports are a good deal.
The stereo is for Japanese domestic market and it does not work in North America, the drivers seat is built after the bostrom seat fully adjustable to the drivers weight. I love the seat when going over washboard which is most of Manitoba back roads that I travel.
Thing is built like a Sherman Tank, the 3rd member on the diff is as large as a Ford half ton maybe even larger, 225R-16 tires, 4 wheel drive with high and low range, short wheel base goes where a mountain goat cant go.
Instrumentation, includes a compass, altimeter and inclination plus a trans temperature gauge, factory installed skid plates for engine and transmission, heavy push bar with big fog lights mounted on the front bumper.
Next round I will process my WVO into bio.
Not my Pajero in the picture but an exact carbon copy, the seat in my Pajero is a lot nicer than this one below.
