Both cars stiffed to the nines, bottom car was so heavy I had to jack the RPM's up to 1500 then crowed the jib in to get her loaded, 2nd car almost lost the roof.



But still not as heavy as the bottom car.

Bonus having air on the truck, easy removal of aluminum rims using the impact.

One and the same, came back with better manners, and fewer stories.

It's been a rough winter buying that truck tapped me out, right now I'm down to my last $7.00 in my bank account. Had to do a bunch of small repairs to get the truck passed on this recent safety inspection and just finnished up this morning and plated the truck this afternoon had to remove the insureance from my pick up to swing it.

I now have some competition, the guy has a trailer and does not take cars without wheels, which is almost everything on the reserve - aluminum rims are an easy case of beer.

Wont know what the weight is until I hit the yard with that load, for the curious the truck empty weighs 8780 kg currently has 1/4 tank of fuel.x 2

i like your setup, ive been thinking about a lumber truck with a piggyback forklift, have any of you ever seen anyone try this scrapping cars? the forklift would be great moving cars around the yard and a snap to take off the aluminum wheels, take off all four and set it down on the truck? before anyone asks most of them have a 5000lb capacity

Your going to have problems loading from the side of the truck if your going to stack em, to load that top car. Forklifts do not have very good reach before the mast runs up against the deck.

To load that top car, I attach a tag line so that I'm able to steer the load where I want it from a safe distance. Removing rims, just take the lug nuts off while the car is still on the ground when you lift they stay behind.

When I'm cutting the catylitic off, I rest the rear bumper onto the side of the deck making it secure to go under. Most cranes come with a safety feature if a hydraulic hose burts the sudden loss of fluids shuts off a valve located at the cylinder. The load will remain put until repairs have been made.But why put yourself at unessesary risk.

i hadnt even thought about double stacking until your pic, just ideas running thru my head, ive got a wild kinda mind always trying to find a better way the good thing about me is im not afraid to fail finding out. ive also looked at blue ox knuckleboom trailers, ive not got the money for either one right now but ill get lucky someday

Be pesitant Cory it will come to you one way or the other. I started this show with a home built car trailer which was licensed 1rst of Sept I ran it until middle of November then made a useless trip to Ontario to buy a crane truck which would not pass a safety, on the way home found this truck. As for the truck not the best deal I've ever made, but that Palfinger makes up for all the bad points.

In that 2 1/2 months made a bit over $19,000.00 but I put in some long hours to pull it off.

Blush, well you guys are the brother I never had and leaving you all was kinda hard. Its time to make ammends with the admin I applogize for my harsh words which got me banned. Hopefully we can all let by gones be just that and get on with the business of scrapping.

Its off to bed, road bans are still in effect so its an early start for me to beat the D.O.T. out of the coffee shop. I need to familurize myself with the weighs and placement of those weights before I will have enough confidence to make day trips.

My last truck had a GVW of 19.500 kg and this one is smaller at 14,500 kg so my legal load weight is 5720 kg or 12584 lbs less 15% for the road bans.

I don't know about you guys but I have kinda missed the detailed stories of some of the different adventures or paths Biscuit/Gus has taken in getting the job done scrapping, the trucks, ball mills, and different ways of breaking stuff down. Thank you sir,,,
