    Seperating Metals From Vehicles

    Couple of questions about separation of metals from vehicles

    We have large amount of cars pass though (5 a week)

    They get fully dismantled atm so removing and separating parts is not a problem we just need to know what needs to go where.

    Wiring Looms
    We put all theses in one bin with all there plastic covers and fuse boxes and stuff still on them (is this a problem)

    Alloy
    We put all dirty alloy in a Irony Alloy Bin. ( radiators, Brackets With iron on them or plastic )



    We also have a 'clean alloy' bin that alloy with out any iron or plastic goes in.
    We are not sure if we should put cast alloy and 'normal, like bonnets' alloy together ?
    also whats the prices for irony alloy, cast alloy and 'normal alloy' and alloy wheels ?

    Motors.
    We put Alternators, Starter motors In one box.
    Should we also put Fan Motors, Heater Blower Motors, Wiper Motors,Fuel pump motors in the same box ?

    ABS pumps ? Where shall we put these ? Motor box or irony alloy ? Or neither.

    ECU's
    they normally look like alloy case. Shall we put them in the Irony Alloy bin ?


    Exhaust Manifolds - Cast Iron
    Is it worth removing ? is the price much more than general Scrap Shell.

    Wheel Weights
    We remove all these and put them in a bucket when we remove the tyres.
    I know there are lead, Zinc and Steel. We put them all in the same bucket what will this be weighted in as ?


    Lambda Sensor
    Theses come off the cats when we remove them, Is it worth putting them in a buckle (who in the UK deals with them and whats the price)

    First off, most if not all of your questions have already been answered, other than perhaps location-specific pricing. Go through older posts and you'll find all your answers. But some quick points;

    Wiring looms. Check with -your- buyer what they pay for them as-is, as well as trimmed. Then weigh one or two or a few both before and after. Now you have their value either way. Figure what your time is worth for trimming, and you'll have your answer.

    Alloy. All are graded differently. Bonnets are "sheet" aluminum. Rads are rads. Brackets are cast. Wheels are wheels. If you pile them all together, you get paid based on what the lowest grade is worth. Again, check with your buyer on what grades they use, and how they want product sorted.

    Alternators are worth more than starters. Starters are worth more than electric motors(all the rest you listed).

    If you cannot get a better-than-scrap "core" price for your ECUs, then yes, dirty alum pile is fine. Some of them are very easy to separate though, and you end up with clean alum as well as circuit boards. Again, get prices from your buyer(s) on all those options, figure the value of your time, and there's your answer.

    Check with your buyer on the other material, to see how they want stuff sorted. In my experience, wheel weights are not worth sorting (they are usually bought as scrap lead, with pricing reflecting the steel and zinc contamination). ABS pumps usually go with irony alum, but double check.

    Cut fuse box off wire and seperate starters/alternators from motors but check with your yard
