So basically, I'm interested in learning how to recycle cars. If you guys can please briefly outline the process for me and inform me on if this is a RELIABLE type of business.
P.S. Just explain the basics like where to find the cars and how to haul them.

Sooooo I am just wondering. If you joined in August of 2011 andddddddddd it is now August of 2013...have you not read at all in two years? I go to police auctions. They are kind of hit or miss though. As someone said before, I believe it was jord a safe price is $200.00 for cars $250.00 for vans and $300.00 for trucks. Cut off converter(s), radiators, alternators, starters, ac pumps, battery, aluminum wheels, and wiring. Hope this helps!

i want to see a nice clear picture of your truck and trailer.
Also how does the v10 do and what kind of gas mileage do you get?
Also do you put any fuel from the junks cars in the truck for free gas?

V10 does GREAT . This is my third since Ford stopped making the 460
Problems with the left ankle forced me into an auto trans, but I have not been disappointed
I get 10 - 12 around town picking up the cars, Has about 130K miles at this time
The 02 had 233K miles when I sold that.
I also snow plow with it >> I use a BOSS V plow, When they say minute mount >> THEY MEAN IT!
Having the V plow it stacks GREAT >> Look in front of the truck, to the left of the photo by the telephone pole and you will see the 7 - 9 foot piles I stack
NOT A CHANCE!
When gas is above $4.00, I do use in my beater cars but NOT the truck!

I had a whole lengthy post written up but then I deleted it all. This is just going to turn into yet another one of the OP's fishing expeditions, an a waste of time. Someone else with more patience an tack then me, can try to help this guy.
I will say this one thing...To the OP if you lack a truck to curb shop, or move a bin, how in the heck do you think your going to do car recycling? The parts don't just fall off an the cars don't just magically appear in your yard with the twitch of a nose ya know?
An with that I'm done with this thread and the others by this fella. Just one big circle of "Lead me to the water then fish for me".

Most local councils will have licensed car breakers in your area.Contact them for advice.The car breaker will deal with the paper work etc with the DVLA for you.You will get more for it value wise if you take it to the breakers rather than them having to uplift it,hope this helps

You know John, if a car has just recently been off the road, I will take the gas. If is has been sitting for more than 6 months forget it.
That is the beauty of a gasser vs. diesel in our market. But I do understand your point of view.

what i do is put a ad on craigslist also look in the car and truck section and auto parts i found few vehicles that way.
far as junking a vehicle i take out the battery,cut off the cat,take off any good sheet metal parts such as hoods,trunk,fenders,doors. if it has aluminum wheels take those off to. i also take off any aluminum engine parts those you can toss in a aluminum pile. also take off the copper wiring thats easy to get to. take off any electric motors such as starter,alt. i also take off the computer,airbags things like that. those you can toss on ebay and make few extra dollars with. take few pictures and you can put your sheet metal parts on craigslist in the auto parts section i sold a few that way. if they don't sell say in a month you can toss them in your metal pile or you could try ebay. all that stuff ads up in the end and make you few extra dollars on top of what you would get at the scale from the scrap yard. hope this helps ya out.

Since I'm poor and can't afford to buy a car hauler, and the cars I've been recycling have been in hard to get to spots anyway where it would have been difficult to get a car hauler in, I usually just take the cars apart. If I start early I can usually have a car cut into pieces small enough to fit in the bed of my pickup and loaded onto my flatbed in a day's time. A standard socket set, hacksaw, wood splitting maul, a good logging chain with a come-a-long and a pickup truck is really all I use to get them apart.
Taking them apart also gives you the opportunity to group things that might make more money by themselves than they would if you just sold the car as a whole. Here's a few examples from the scrap yard I use. Catalytic converters sell for anywhere from $10-$100 depending on their condition because they sometimes contain precious metals like platinum. Heater cores bring $1.10 a pound. Electric motors like alternators go for 15 cents a pound, etc. You also don't have to sell the whole car at once if you take them apart. You could sell the bodies/frames, but keep the smaller things like alternators, catalytic converters, heater cores, etc. in boxes and sell a bunch of them in bulk.

Call your garbage company to see if they charge to recycle. If you don't want to pay, there are places to take recycling. Good for you to start your family on this! It's easy once you start!

I thought I had seen it all but last week I was at the yard and some "urban" guys came in with cut up car parts in a Chevy Avalanche, pulling a trailer. Avalanche bed was full of oil from engine and trans leaking, probably scraped and beat up from jamming in parts. But the best part was the "trailer" was made from part of the car/truck they cut up! I think they just left it there by the shred pile. Gotta wonder why they'd take the time to sawzall a car apart unless there were some "title issues".
